Electrical power distribution, power transmission and power generation laboratory

All models which are related to producing power and getting it to end the user is here. We simulate every step of the process from start to finish. Projection relays are a big part of this laboratory.

Electrical machines and drives laboratory

Here we study the operation performance of various types of DC and AC machines and drives. The studies that we do are motor test bench load and torque studies, weather cabinet testing, high-voltage endurance testing, magnetic field measurements, product-specific type testing, and tailored product development projects.

DEMVE laboratory

The project’s overall objective is to strengthen the Vaasa region expertise in energy technology at the international level by developing expertise in communications standards for electricity distribution. During the project period, several of the different vendors’ products are collected in a laboratory to examine the data transfer between the products and to create training modules on communication standards.

Electrical automation laboratory

This is all about monitoring and controlling different industrial processes. That is achived by programmable smart controllers and different measuring modules. We have a real controlling space built inside which imitates a controlling room. Right next to that is different small scale models of real-life situations.

EMC laboratory

The electromagnetic disturbance generated by the device should not exceed a level that would prevent the operation of radio and telecommunication equipment and other devices as intended. The device must have sufficient immunity to electromagnetic interference to enable the device to function as intended. Certification of the EMC properties of the device requires testing according to the standards and is done in this laboratory.
