When Technobothnia was founded in 1996, and moved in to the newly renovated facilities of the old cotton mill factory, one of the main purposes of the institution was to increase the cooperation between the technical educations in Vaasa and the local industries in the Vaasa region. Another main goal is, of course, to promote the technical educations the schools can offer.

This is achieved by collaborations, joint projects, beneficial agreements and an aspiration of openness.
